THE 87th TExas Legislature

The 87th Texas Legislature, with Governor Greg Abbott's support, pushed numerous bills targeting underrepresented communities in the state including birthing people, trans students, and migrants. These proposals, often driven by divisive political agendas, aimed to restrict freedoms and create a less inclusive Texas.

The ACLU of Texas and its partners actively opposed these harmful bills, blocking some and working to mitigate the impact of others.
