CHoosing our future: Block Party and Mural
ProJect Summary
The Choosing Our Future block party and mural unveiling took place one week before early voting began in Texas’ midterm elections in 2022. The community activation centered on voter education and building strategic alignment with local, Black organizations.
The mural was canvassed by Mathieu Jean Baptiste at Th3 Escape housing development in the historical Third Ward.
My role
Project managed the event, mural pacing, and collaborations with the artist and partners
Produced email and managed social media communications promoting the event
Organized on the ground, going door-to-door in the area to invite neighbors and businesses to the block party
